Report reply Metal Majesty Posted December 30, 2012 I've never made a ring before. Why two sizes of rings? Share this comment Link to comment
Report reply madd-vyking Posted December 30, 2012 Saw cut 20g 1/8" rings have too small an AR to do E6-1. By doing the two inner rows in 20g 9/64", you can just make the weave "work". And by using a slightly smaller ring (1/8") on the outer rings, it gives the ring a bevel--a rounder profile. But you could just as easily use 20g 9/64" for all the rows, you'd just get a flatter profile to the ring. But even more so in this instance I used 1/8" on the outer rows because it was a commissioned piece, and they specifically wanted silver and black niobium. TRL doesn't sell their black niobium in 9/64", and I don't cut my own rings, so that was my solution. Share this comment Link to comment
