The year you started making chainmail

Not sure which scales those are, brass or gold-plated most likely, but I think the colours are only a reflection...looks like it was taken outside so cars/trucks maybe?
-
Pauline started following How many hackey sacks in 30 pounds of ss?, scales pictured on main page, Inconel VS Stainless and and 6 others
-
TRL's info on the inconel page states that it is 75% nickel--the most common metal allergy--so definitely not hypoallergenic

OMG that's totally AWESOME!!! I love it!

Me too!! (had that prob) My son gave up on daytime naps when he was 7-8 months old, he needed very little sleep and was up at 7am, bed at 10 pm every day--talk about getting nothing done!! Enjoy it while it lasts...they are grown up a LOT longer than they are cute little darlings! My son is 20 now and moving out next week. My house is a total, TOTAL disaster at the moment--add 3 jobs, a show next month, a business deal in the works, 2 big dogs who like to wrestle (in the house), random young people wandering in & out at all hours, an hormonal teenager of the female variety (son's GF, serious family issues there --be glad you have a boy!), a future MIL who's moving into town (MORE family issues)....<sigh> I need a vacation... I have to add a HUGE thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! to my BF who has been doing ALL the laundry & ALL the cooking to give me more time to get things done

How much maille do you bring to shows?
Pauline replied to Mage Weave Designs's topic in Maille Industry
My list is pretty close to Frostfly's except I usually have fewer earrings, more necklaces and making pendants and keychains seems to be permanently stuck halfway down my to-do list -
I hate when that happens! I was putting rings away yesterday and thinking that I need one more container and I should pick up a few extra just in case. They've been working out really well for me and I've finally got my inventory under control. I think I'm going to see if my BF will help me build a box for them so they'll fit into slots like a tool chest. Add some heavy duty wheels and a collapsible handle and it'll be portable and easy to move around.

help figuring out how many rings i need - micro chains
Pauline replied to webpixie's topic in Discussion
Awesome, thank you! Last time I didn't think to ask and turned out they were working in stainless...um, yeah, didn't quite work out -
Hopefully this will encourage people to be a little more safety-conscious. I live in a steel town and have family that works at the plant (most retired now thank goodness)...it's appalling how, even now, so many workers think safety regs are only for other people and do stupid and/or careless things. Just before I read your post yesterday I found out one of my mom's best friends (who I've known since I was little) fell off a ladder and broke her back in 2 places (at least, they didn't do thorough testing yet since it was a holiday weekend here and there weren't enough docs around). She is expected to be alright (no paralysis) but probably won't get back to 100% again...she *is* 73 She wasn't paying enough attention to where she put the ladder and put one leg on a hard-packed path and the other in the soft lawn. That sucks! Hope you aren't working on anything that you need/want to get done by a certain time.

I can't help but I have to tell you... I don't have internet at home at the moment and keep up with email & the forum on my cell phone. So the other day I'm standing in the kitchen, first thing in the morning, waiting for the coffee to be ready....staring, bleary-eyed, at the itty-bitty letters on the teeny-tiny screen and I read the title of your post as: caution: finger found in aluminum shirt

In what metal? -
Thank goodness it wasn't worse! I hope everything heals up quickly.
-
At least that's better than getting less than you figured! I have a spreadsheet I use to automatically calculate a bunch of stuff and have to make sure to double check if a number is rings per bag, per oz, or per lb. Switching the oz & lb numbers is usually pretty obvious but in some materials the bag & oz numbers are close enough not to be too obvious that I've screwed it up. Pauline

Haha, sorry guys it shoulda been me! ...but, if it's any consolation, it looks like I'll be missing the AA restock so I'll end up reordering too.

OMG it came BEFORE I ordered.....<thud>..... Thank you Bernice for keeping us updated!
