Fear not, I'm not about to do some kind of dumb stunt or anything like that. I would just like to know if it could serve as real armor on a medieval battlefield. I like owning things that I know could take the punishment of the real deal, that's all. So with a gambeson underneath, you don't think it could survive a thrust from a sword or spear?

I was looking at the welded ring shirt, and I couldn't help but wonder; Would this stuff actually be able to function as armor? Or is the gauge of the wire too thin to offer any protection, despite being welded? Thanks!
