    found this on flickr

this is the first time I have seen this bike ... but have heard a whole lot about it and have had people inquire about doing this and other things in maille on their bikes... I have done a few sets of hand grips and playing with tank covers... the one thing I can see from this picture is this thing must hum like a bee hive with the maille on the bare pipe like it is... would drive you nuts after a 20 mile ride...

    deburring stainless clad scales

I spent the better part of 3 hours grinding bur off of scale earlier... then ran them in the the tumbler with stainless shot for about 3 hours and man what a sheen... I had to put on my shades...lol I am rolling every scale I buy from now on... they even feel different... smooth and sexy ... waiting on my order to finish this project... thanks again for the input folks

    deburring stainless clad scales

thanks for the info... I just spent an hour out in the shop with the dremal tool and grinding bit rubbing off the burs... what a pain in the hand... but it worked now I am going to run then in the tumbler with the stainless shot for a couple hours and should be good to go... thanks again to all who replied

what is the name of this tool and where did you get it ... I can barely see the picture ...it is very small... I am also thinking about breaking out the dremal tool with a grinding wheel ... thanks for the info

    new working surface... maybe

I use to do some leather work and have some left over suede... about 24x18" works perfect when traveling I use a heavy cookie sheet pan with a piece of suede cut to fit...

    deburring stainless clad scales

has anyone out there tried deburring stainless clad scales ... have run a hand full in the tumbler with stainless shot... they out blindingly shinny but still have the burs on the lower edge of the punched hole... any ideas on getting rid of this with out harming the finish... I am doing a piece in J6-1 variant with scales on front ... like the ones shadowwalker482 has done... all in all coming out great except for the burs on the scales... when you rub your hand across the outside you feel every sharp edge... Distressing bright aluminum mail

I didn't see anyone else post this so I will I have used clorox bleach and is makes BA a dull gray color... like standard aluminum ... it takes the shine right off ... also I saw where someone said BA is shinny all the way though... if this is true why is it that br BA bracelet I were 24/7 along with the 20 or so other bracelets... dulled out and the no matter how much tumbling/polishing I do the shine does not come back...

    Scale mail question

I haven't used 14ga to do my scales but I don't see why it couldn't work ... you my try splitting the difference in ring size ...maybe 11/32 but like the other guy says to use the 14ga 5/16 will most likely get tight a little ways into the weave... good luck
