  1. So what you are doing is essentially instead of applying full force in brute to snip through the spring, you twist around the wire while applying force, and then you snap it over? That is quite like cutting a tree down! What gauge/material is this you are working with, and have you tried it with any larger gauges such as 14g yet? Great technique! Thanks for the tip/video! -DireWolf

    making a Rubik's cube

A Rubik's cube sounds like quite the quest! I would suggest making a sample piece and taking preliminary measurements. I do this a lot with all of my own personal pieces just to have an estimate of how many rings/how many hours I should have to put into a piece. Like right now I am making a micromaile necklace, and I have 214 rings measuring up at 12.9mm for a total length of the chain. I want a 100mm necklace, so I multiply 100mm by (214 rings/ 12.9mm) essentially using stoichiometry to cancel out the mm unit, ending up with about 1660 rings needed. If you need help with the setup, I would be more than willing to help walk you through it. Also, I am quite curious of your design plans for the Rubik's cube! Is it going to be static, or how will you make it modular? It sounds really interesting! -Good luck, DireWolf

    What's in a name?

I played the xbox game Mech-Assault when I was over my best friend's house, and I looked into the older versions. There are many different mechs, but the one named DireWolf was my favorite. It also correlates to the primitive dire wolf, and since I am big on survival skills, it fit right into the puzzle.

Hey all, I have been dabbling in the realm of chainmail for approximately a year. I made small stuff so far, and it is quite fun. I look forward being a part of the community!

Ahh, that looks great! How are the colors? It seems as if the black doesn't come out too well, any suggestions? Your tie looked great!

    Announcing Dragon Scale Tie Instructions

I was wondering if anyone had made this before, what they thought, and if they had pictures to post of it. Also, I was quite curious of how it feels to wear it. The site says it is attached with a clasp, and that sounds a little rigid and uncomfortable to me. -Thanks for the help in advance!
