Thank you! I did find some inexpensive displays on ebay; also some great ideas on diy ways to display on Pintrest.

need display ideas for craft fair

Thank you so much! That gives me lots of ideas, I think I have a nice picture in my head, ready to start bringing it to life!
  3. I'm headed to my first craft fair, a few months from now. Any ideas on attractive, inexpensive ways to display my wares? I make necklaces, bracelets, anklets and earrings. (I have a 10 X 10 canopy and plan on getting an 8' folding table). Any help is greatly appreciated!

    how strong is sterling?

Thank you so much, everyone, for the info. That tensile strength chart was especially helpful; I didn't know such a thing existed. I think I feel pretty safe about making the neckalce that I want to...

    how strong is sterling?

I've never worked with sterling silver, but would like to make a HP4in1 necklace, using 5/32" 20g rings. I've done a few pieces in fine silver, and found them to be rather like play-dough! Much too soft. What metal might sterling be compared to? I've worked with aluminum, copper, brass, stainless and titanium. Brass is my favourite.

need help making a ring for finger

I wonder how strong Sterling Silver is? What might it compare to? I've worked with copper, aluminum, brass, stainless, and titanium. I've found brass to be my favourite to work with; it's just the right amount of strength vs. pliability for me. Too bad it does tarnish so quickly, and I've found it difficult to clean.

I probably should have used Sterling. My vey pretty fine wilver 20g 5/32" HP 4-in-1 didn't even last a week before I had to do the first couple of repairs.

need help making a ring for finger

Update: I made a HP 4-in-1 with 20g 5/32" fine liver and love the looks of it. I probably should have used Sterling; I'd forgotten how soft fine silver is. Ah well. I'll wear it and see how it goes, hopefully it will last. I'll post an update it a few weeks, either if it's holding up or if I've had to do any repairs. Thank you for everyone's help! I'm trying to figure out how to post a picture here....

Wow, in 22g? Cool! I already ordered some 20g 5/32", but I'll definately keep it in mind. By the way, I've only worked with silver once, my medium of choice is brass. How hard/strong is sterling silver, compared to fine silver? Is it much stronger? I used fine silver, and found it perhaps a bit softer than copper. It's so pretty but it was awfully weak. I sterling much better?

need help making a ring for finger

Thank you, I'll do that. I'm not really very hard on my stuff. I'm a bartender by trade, and I don't do anything more strenous on my hands than washing dishes or detailing my collector car... most of my spare time is spent working on jewelry or reading. I think it'll probably hold up ok. I'll give it a shot, anyway

Really? Ok, I'll give it a shot. I went ahead and made a Half Persian 4-in-1 with 20g 5/32" in brass, and it turned out really nice, I'm going to do the same in silver. I'll go ahead and solder to be safe. Thank you!

need help making a ring for finger

Does anyone have any suggestions on a weave for making a ladies' ring? I would like to use Sterling silver. My hands are pretty small so I really need something delicate looking but strong enough for everyday wear. I made one out for 22g 3/32" jewellers' brass in Euro 4-in-1 that is actually perfect for me, I'm just afraid that it won't be strong enough and will need repairs often; so I am a little leary of duplicating it in Silver. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
