First time posting, long time lurker.
I've worked on and am currently working on a bunch of projects, with thanks to a relatively new hobby. At one point or another, I decided to make a scale shoulder bag for my sibling and I wanted to share the result...
Bag dimensions are roughly 12" x " 2" x 11"
Used about 550 large aluminum scales, linked together with 16ga, 5/16" ID stainless steel rings
The inner bag lining and stitching was deer leather.
I also used 1.5" wide, 1/8" thick, cow hide as a structural backbone for attaching the scale mail, inner lining, and 1.5" ID strap rings.
Starting off with the most important part and eventually attaching them to the leather backbone.
Showing the underside of the inverted bag where I temporarily stitched the zipper to the bag opening.
Starting to attach the inner liner and the zipper layer to the backbone.
With the inner lining finished I'm ready to close this thing.
Finally, the finished project! Now I just need to make a strap for it.
