Any tips on coloring Galvanized Steel Wire?

Thank you for your response. I hope it doesn't bother you that I'm going to be orienting mine that way since it is accurate. It's another world, He uses his sword left handed, give it a break. Anyways, back to the point. I kind of wanted to use the heavier metal because I'd feel more in character wearing it. I'm semi-worried that wearing aluminum would feel like I'm wearing a bunch of soda pop tops. But with you mentioning the smell, I may just have to change my mind. Would a protective coat hide the smell? If not I might just go for Aluminum and spray paint it bronze, since anodized aluminum is expensive.
  2. I'm planning to cosplay from Twilight Princess and I wanted to really get into the role so I got myself some Galvanized steel wire to help put my into character. My original plan was to burn it until it turned bronze, but I learned that Zinc fumes are toxic, so I decided not to for obvious reasons. I'm most likely going to spray paint it, but I'm not sure if that's going to be my final decision. I just wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions on how to achieve a bronze look on Galvanized steel that's easy to reproduce and not too messy/expensive. Also for anyone familiar with the character, what would be the best color. it seems very inconsistent. It's Bronze in TP, Brass in Hyrule Warriors, Gold on the Nintendo Switch Profile Icon, and Silver in Smash Brothers. Lastly, what Gauge and ring diameter should I use? I was thinking 5/16 with 16 gauge, but I'm really new to this and not very experienced, so any help would be apreciated.
