  1. It finally happened. The house was foreclosed on and I had to move to a smaller place. I'm trying to cover some expenses and also declutter; perhaps you can help out!

I'll ship using flat rate boxes, and if you purchase over $200, I'll cover the cost.

I'm selling these well below my normal prices, because I know selling maille to maillers is rough. Rough times can do that...

This is part 1. I should have part 2 up in a few days, but the items are still packed away in boxes. Part 2 will also have rings and findings and such. I've been mailling for 13 years, so this is really tough to do, but I need the space (and money), and they need to go!

PM any questions, I'll try to keep things up to date.

  2. I have an anklet, hp4-1 18g 1/4" Stainless, that's permy. I've had it on for at least 6 years, perhaps longer? I made sure I could stick two fingers comfortably between it and my ankle, but it's not really floppy enough to catch on anything, either. Haven't had any problems, aside from one cotton sock that decided to tangle on a ring closure... (6 years is a long time, with no upkeep...)

  3. I ordered 40lbs of bright aluminum 14g wire instead of pre-cut rings for one reason. I don't have a job, college begins in a few months, and I don't have anything better to do. (also taking hourly photos, so it LOOKS more interesting and time consuming  )

On any other project or in any other situation, I agree that purchasing pre-cut is the smartest option.

(And the money saved/paid to me in 'slave-labor' can get me a 'decent' computer)

  4. It's been a few months, so I figured I'd post again, as most of the items are still available. Remember, I'm willing to sell any combo of items, as long as the wholesale (1/2 my original retail values listed) exceeds $100. Shipping is flat rate priority boxes. Again, the list of available items.

  5. I've had some interest, and I've sold a few items. I made a full inventory with my original retail prices of the remaining items. (The price I sold them locally, out of a store) Wholesale is 50% of listed price, if interested in over $200. I use flat-rate priority boxes, so shipping is not bad. I also have 4 vests (was 6) not on this list. I am not giving up on maille, just cleaning out what I have made to make room for new items.

  8. This is for my 3'x5' corner display in a store right now, but I have at least $5k in stock, and I have another $1-2k at home. This will be increased in the next few weeks, as I'm about to get another order of rings in. If I were to set up at another faire, I'd bring all of the items, sans duplicates. (leaving $1-2k at the store, and bringing the remainder)

I've sold at a few faires, but have yet to sell more than 1-2% of my stock at any time. I think it's the faires, and not my wares.

(If you want a list of what I have in stock, I'll make one. I like to make one each year, so I know what I have)

  9. I found a spool of wire at a yard sale today. I figured I'd pick it up, as it was only $10.00. I still haven't figured out what alloy it is, but it works fine for 5/16" ID E4-1. A magnet pulls lightly at it. I'm going to see if it cleans up a bit with soap and water. This could make a nice vest, maybe a shirt.

Stats, because you're as curious as me: (listed on the side of the box it came in)

    Miller Thermal, Inc

    Appleton, WI

    Part Number WA-Alloy BCW-4 Description Alloy "B" Cookware 14ga

Purchase Order Number 19698 Heat Number 64614

  10. I would think that 5/16" e4 in that wire would just fall apart. e6 might stand up, but I'd think about a 1/4" mandrel. a 1/4" e6 would be very nice, I bet. Make a small patch and then take some pictures?

OTOH, if you want to go with oriental weaves, 3/16" should be fine, but might need doubling.

  11. It's amazing. Just a few hours before this thread was created, I was wondering the same thing. I like the look of the 3-loop clasps, but I have never had any luck with bending wire for beads and such. Does anyone have a picture of the 3-2-1 step-down? It's late and I can't imagine it at the moment. Thanks.
