woo! rant time!!!

so i'm sure some of you saw the status post about the $3600 commission....well it's been a month and I still haven't seen a cent.

dude claims to have money for me...still haven't seen him.  it's 90 chains, that's gonna take me a while.  i'm on the cusp of my night shifts where i do the majority of my weaving and i haven't ordered any supplies.  dude says he's got every intention of using my chains exclusively on his wallets....and yet TRL has a $350 order saved but not completed.

i don't expect advice or anything...i'm just pissed off and need to vent to people who've experienced this sort of thing.

thanks for listening.

Did you not ask for a deposit? I've learned you always get 1/2 down.. that way your not out. I had something like what your going through happen and it was a lesson well learned. Hope this doesn't come off as rude just trying to help :)

F***in hell. I'm glad you haven't laid down any $$ yet. Some people, super flaky and unreliable :/ I hope if he does cough up a deposit that you can find the time again.

Good luck, It would not suprize me if he was comparing costs with other artists.

On the other hand farming out some of the work could speed up production.

no I refuse to take any action until i have some form of cash on hand.  at least material costs.  that way if they walk away, i get free stock.

it's just frustrating.  we'd made some tentative plans for the money.  that would have been 3400 bucks free and clear.  grr.  dude hasn't said for sure that the contract is dead.  but his silence is most disturbing.
