Why not fund your business with a Kickstarter?

Recommended Posts

For someone just starting out this might be an OK idea in my book.  Maybe.  $1264 isn't that impressive but it will get you a tumbler, a welder and $200 in rings so it is a start.

Looking up chainmail on Kickstarter I've found a number of projects that funded quite easily.  I'd almost look at a project there as advertising and simple selling.  Put an item you are trying to sell at each level of contribution, and include your web page to let people contact you for custom items.

This isn't the intended use for the site, but it would work very well.

it doesn't always work either,  i have seen Kickstarters for similar chain mail projects flop horribly as often as they succeed. I thought about it and just felt weird about it. it was even a worse feeling when i saw someone on GOFUNDit trying to raise money for the fees for a Gaming Convention, it might work but to me just didn't feel right.
