Choosing the right jump ring for jewelry making

Recommended Posts

I am pretty new to jewelry making and I am having a tough time deciding what gauge jump ring is right for earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

Does it depend on the weight of the piece, or is it a matter of personal preference?

Thanks for any advice

Depends upon the permissible sizes and gauges for a given weave, how stiff or loose you want the weave to be, overall finished size, and the look you're going for.

This wouldn't be for making chain mail jewelry. Just regular jewelry. It seems more of a preference/choice. Being that I am so new to the jewelry making world, I thought maybe there would be a guideline for proper use of jewelry findings.
