Covered 45 degree seam on scales

Recommended Posts

Here's a way to make a 45 degree seam in scale fabric without having bare rings showing:

main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=10389

The scales can flop aside as shown in the bottom left picture, but they tend to lie flat.

A better look at the back of the patch:

main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=10420

I can see whole new realms of patterns being opened up with this.

Excellent job; really nice approach to a 45 seam that's not f-ugly.

This is wonderful.

In looking at your "snaps" you have quite an extensive portfolio in scales.

Have you ever made any bracelets.

I have tried several times to make one (using standard jump rings) and it just doesn't both lay, or join nicely. Do you have any ideas on what pattern and material to make a foundation bracelet as you begin the traditional 4 in 1 weave.

Thank you

Sue

Gaanon: Sure, just not right now. The photo's are saved on another computer.

Suegems: I've found that for a scale handflower, you can use a length of Helm's chain in 18 ga. 3/16 and 5/16 rings as the bracelet and attach the scales from this. It's not as pretty as I'd like though.
